Artemis Fowl: The Eternity Code

File:Artemisfowl3.JPG

You'll have a marry time while reading this is the book. Of course to completely understand this book you'll have to read "The Arctic Incident" but that's not a must. You'll not learn anything useful in this book but having a smile on your face at the end of it will be worth the reading.

The C-Cube, built by Artemis Fowl partly from Fairy technology, and therefore capable of breaching the Underworld's defences, is stolen by a shady American businessman who will do anything to obtain power. In the process, Artemis' bodyguard and friend, Butler is fatally wounded, and Artemis calls on Holly to heal him using her fairy magic. Artemis then reveals to her how an unscrupulous businessman has control of the fairy technology which he acquired from them. Mulch Diggums, the criminal gnome, is hired by the American to kidnap Artemis, but instead goes into partnership with him and Holly to recover the Cube.

If you enjoyed the first book, you won't be disappointed by the second. Initially the pace is a little slower, and the slightly more mellow Artemis is certainly a tad unnerving at first (particularly as one of the things that made him such an unusual character was the fact that there was something distinctly unlikable about him), but once the sparks between Holly and Artemis begin to fly, and the adventure that tests their endurance to their emotional, physical, and intellectual limits begins, the pages just keep on turning.Reading this book was like if you put a Bond movie, a fairy tale and a sock puppet in a blender and turned it on and drank it.

In this book Artemis Fowl, a thirteen year old criminal mastermind is on year older and one year wiser. He is living in an Irish boarding school when he receives a message about the man he thought he'd never see again, his father Artemis Fowl Senior. Meanwhile Captain Holly Short and Commander Root of the LEPrecon forces face a huge problem when they discover that goblins, one of the stupidest forms or fairy, have been receiving human help and are turning into a threat in the fairy world. Artemis, Butler, and the fairies are once again thrown together, but this time under different circumstances. They make a deal, if Artemis helps them with their problem, they'll help him find his father. Easy right? Well, if you think that you could be no further from the truth. The goblin's scheme is more complicated than anyone would have guessed. Artemis and co. soon find themselves fighting for their lives.

Artemis Fowl

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/0/07/Artemis_Fowl_first_edition_cover.jpg

This book was a decent read if you have the patience to get to the good parts because it started off rather boring. as a matter of fact, you shouldn't read this book unless you plan on reading the rest in the series because the more you read the better it gets. I think that this book would be less appealing to younger children, but older kids, teenagers and adults alike should enjoy the mix of fantasy, humour and adventure.

Artemis Fowl is a twelve-year-old boy who just happens to be both a genius and a criminal mastermind. In a desperate attempt to restore his family's fortune, Artemis comes up with a plan to steal gold from the fairies. Along with his trusty butler sidekick "Butler", he travels to Vietnam on a quest to find a volume of fairy commandments. Once this is achieved and the book deciphered, the next logical step would be to kidnap a fairy and wait for the ransom money to arrive. However, when Artemis kidnaps Captain Holly Short of the LEPrecon, it seems he's made a mistake. Because these aren't the cute little elves of bedtime stories. These fairies are armed, dangerous and ready to fight. And they will stop at nothing to get Holly back.

Seeing Redd

File:Seeing redd.jpg

The second book in the looking glass war series and it is just as interesting, only a little bit more gorie, as the first. These aren't like the greatest books in the world and nothing close to a classic or profitable reading...More like free time reading or feel good reading:P But it is still worth reading once when you need a time filler. And from what I've heard their making a movie so it might be fun to read it before it comes out...on who knows when...so no hurry:P

Plot...

Alyss of Wonderland’s rule has only just begun and already those who prefer chaos to peace are threatening to destroy everything worth imagining. Trailed by newly appointed Royal Bodyguard Homburg Molly, Alyss does her best to keep pace with the spiraling, non-stop demands of being Queen while attempting to evade Molly for a few private moments with Dodge. Alyss’s life is already a challenging mix of duty, love and imagining when a series of phantom sightings set fire to an urban myth of her Imperial Viciousness’s return and have everyone… Seeing Redd.

Has Redd somehow freed herself and her chief assassin, the Cat, from the confines of the Heart Crystal to challenge her niece once again? If not, then who has resurrected Redd’s brutal footsoldiers, the Glass Eyes, and set them loose to attack Wonderland on all sides?
Battles rage, looking glasses explode and the Alyssians are once again uniting to defend White Imagination in this fast-paced second book in The Looking Glass Wars trilogy.

The Looking Glass Wars

File:Lgwcover.JPG

This was an interesting book and worth reading...I thought it was a cool idea("telling the real story"of alyss and wonderland)but thats probably because I dislike most of Carrol's books:P
The Looking Glass Wars unabashedly challenges the world’s Carrollian Wonderland assumptions of tea parties, dormice and a curious little blonde girl to reveal an epic, cross dimensional saga of love, murder, betrayal, revenge and the endless war for Imagination. Meet the heroic, passionate, monstrous, vengeful denizens of this parallel world as they battle each other with AD-52’s and orb generators, navigate the Crystal Continuum, bet on jabberwock fights and slip each other the poisonous pink mushroom. Finally, someone got it right. This ain’t no fairytale.:P

Alyss Heart, heir to the Wonderland throne, was forced to flee through the Pool of Tears after a bloody palace coup staged by the murderous Redd shattered her world. Lost and alone in Victorian London, Alyss is befriended by an aspiring author to whom she tells the surreal, violent, heartbreaking story of her young life only to see it published as the nonsensical children’s sojourn Alice in Wonderland. Alyss had trusted Lewis Carroll to tell the truth so that someone, somewhere would find her and bring her home But Carroll had got it all wrong. He even misspelled her name! If not for the intrepid Hatter Madigan, a member of the Millinery (Wonderland’s security force) who after a 13 year search eventually tracked Alyss to London, she may have become just another society woman sipping tea in a too-tight bodice instead of returning to Wonderland to battle Redd for her rightful place as the Queen of Hearts.

Twilight

Hmmmm.....well I think I have to say that this was one of the worst movies I've watched this year! A total flop! I don't understand why it has such a draw to teenage girls. It had an interesting plot line and it could have been allot better if it weren't for all the corny(and I mean corny) soppy lines I kept seeing so many things they could have improved on but ofcourse did'nt! But the most anoying thing in the movie was how they repeated the same corny lines over and over again(that and Edward looked like he had a brick implanted in his face when he was a baby:).

Plot...

Based on Stephenie Meyer's best-selling novel, Twilight follows the saga of Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart), who moves to a small town to live with her father. At school, she meets Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson), a mysterious classmate who reveals himself to be a 108-year-old vampire. Despite his cautions, Bella falls in love with Edward, which endangers her life when a coven of bloodsuckers arrives to challenge Edward and his family.
